Tinkerbell Invitation

I haven't posted in a while but I will have some things soon because I'm working on some baby shower stuff for my niece. The theme is Tinkerbell. I'm currently finishing up the invitations. It's a pocket card. The purple piece that slides out has the party information printed on it. I'll have more tink stuff to show in the next few weeks! I used Cricut Tinkerbell & Friends, Tags Bags, Boxes and More, A Child's Year, Wall Decor and Design Studio to make the card.

Halloween Layout using A Child's Year

All the cutouts for this layout are from the Cricut cartridge "A Child's Year". I just love the silhouette look of the images from this cartridge. I wish I could tell you who makes the paper but I bought it at a garage sale and it didn't have any information printed on it.

Just a reminder: You can click on most of the images in this blog to see them closer.

Baby Shower Card

This is a card that I lifted from somewhere (wish I could remember so I could give them some kudos). Mine's a little different though because the background came out so dark I decided to leave the cutouts white (the one I was copying all the cutouts were inked). Three different Cricut cartridges were used for this one. The embossed paper was cut from a card that came from a box of blank embossed cards that I've had forever and hardly used.

Airplane Birthday Party

I just love making things for birthday parties. Last November, my youngest turned 1 and I spent a lot of time trying to come up with the perfect theme. After finding an airplane propellor-shaped coat hook for his room at a yard sale, I knew the perfect theme would be airplanes, for the party AND his room.

The invitation was a standard folded card. I bought the stamp online and used Stampin' Up Card Stock (Ruby Red and Brilliant Blue) and 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (Chocolate Chip). Inside I printed all the important information inside such as the date, time and place.

I used a hard-to-find but ever-so-cute paper by Daisy D's to cover a plain party hat and added fringe. I stapled the pre-cut crepe paper to the hat first, then added the paper and finally, cut the crepe paper to make fringe. I disassembled one hat first to use as a template. I'm not sure if anyone wore them, but they sure looked cute on the tables!

Then is was time to break out the Cricut! I bought a new Cricut Expression just in time to make projects for this party. For party favors, I cut out and assembled these suitcase-shaped boxes from the Cricut "Plantin Schoolbook" cartridge. The luggage tag is from the Cricut "Tags, Bags, Boxes and More" cartridge. My sister-in-law helped by making the little travel stickers. I printed them out on my inkjet and cut them all out by hand. I filled the boxes with airplane-shaped cazoos, pencil sharpeners, small die cast airplanes, pencils and red, white and blue colored candy.

I added some interest to plain blue party blowers (Cricut "New Arrival" cartridge and Stampin' Up Scallop Circle Punch).

I borrowed a stand that my sister-in-law had recently made for her daugther's Luau Party and re-covered it.

I've mentioned my sister-in-law and how much she helps but this time I have to give most of the credit to my brother-in-law. He made this great wooden sign. We used it for the party and afterward hung it in Liams room. I have to admit that I did NOTHING to make this decoration. My sister-in-law even painted it for me!

No party would be complete without a photo op! My brother-in-law cut out this wooden plane and my father painted it. I love that my family is talented is so many different ways! This also is now hanging in Liam's room.

I'm so glad I purchased extra paper. It came in handy when I got around to scrapping his party.
